Graeme Isaacson was at the door, Col Laurenson was Chairman and Andy Bell was Sergeant.  We had apologies from President Mario Fairlie, Richard Smith, Larry Murray, Karen Holland, Ian Mayberry and Ray Higgs.

Vice President Paul Seymour welcomed all members and visitors Jaime Morgan, (guest of Charles Thomasson), and the Croad Clan was fully represented by brothers Warren & Garth Croad, guest of Geoff Croad

Charles Thomasson briefly outlined details of the upcoming Golf Day: so far approximately 50 players are booked.  We'll need help to sell the raffle tickets - some $2,000 worth of prizes! Be there no later than 11:30 am. Then, after the event (about 4:30 pm), drinks at the Surfers Paradise Golf Club.  Former AFL Brownlow Medallist Simon Black, a director of our latest Corporate Member, the Bank of Queensland Southport Branch, will be there! What an opportunity to "rub shoulders" with high achievers!

After PDG Darrell Brown's presentation (see separate article), Franz Huber elaborated on the recent broadcast on Channel Nine's A Current Affair of our 'Sleeping Sanctuary' efforts.  A special big thank you goes to Karen Holland, who has spent an outrageous amount of time getting the GoFundMe campaign up and running (ever tried to do battle with their website, trying to make a picture fit??).  Doug Lipp reported on the proceeds of the Sausage Sizzle we had on Saturday at Officeworks: $286.00; obviously not at the level one can expect from a day at Bunnings.  Still, it's money we have in the bank we didn't have before!

Sergeant Andy Bell extracted some dollars too: Geoff Croad - Happy Birthday toooooo yooooooou!! Al Sirovs celebrated 70 years in Australia! [he must have arrived when he was a baby! ☺].  Then came the general fines on the theme of 'Superstitions'.  Various members volunteered some: Charles Thomasson tried to wear red socks when playing golf (doesn't work!), Doug Lipp's absolute lucky number is 7, Darrell Brown puts his left sock on first and Peter Morgan buys a Lottery Ticket every time he comes into a town he's not been before [doesn't work either!]...
