We understand that Daryl's wife Pauline, as well as Chris Thurtell's wife Marie regrettably are unwell and is undergoing therapy. May you have strength, Pauline and Marie! Our thoughts are with you for a rapid recovery.
President Andy Bell welcomed all members and guestsL our YE student from the Netherlands, Gigi as well as our Guest Speaker, Andrew Rodgers (see report above). It was Gigi's birthday on Anzac Day - so we all sang a belated and hearty (if not perfectly harmonized) Happy Birthday toooooo yoooouuu ...!
District Treasurer Doug Lipp advised that we have now received the grant money pertaining to the Samoa School. If we are quick, there may still be some unused funds, but applications would need to be put in pronto!
Youth Director Tania Laird advised that we have now 4 candidates nominated for the RYPEN camp. They have been sourced, as last year, in conjunction with the Surfers Paradise SLSC. Following on, District YE Chair Chris Thurtell confirmed that last year's winner of the Lutzy Award (and RYPEN Awardee), Lucy Thorburn, is off to the US for a Youth Exchange in 2019!
President Elect Jo Gorman announced that an evening meeting is planned for mid July (see date claimer below) and of course on the 17th June our Changeover Luncheon. See separate article and link to book.
