Past President Joanne Winwood and Paul O'neill launched the Community Bench at Cascade Gardens today. Paul promoted our wheelchairs project, complete with pull-up banner. The council had organised a "Senior's Garden Party" to launch "the first purpose built, safe and accessible garden space for seniors..." [note the handrails fitted to the climbing ropes in the play gym behind it 😊). Jo, who works for Feros Care, organised the installation of the bench, designed specifically for people not just to sit down at each end, but to also talk to each other.
