Our "Minister for Everything", Geoff Croad, reports that Containers for Change has earned over $15,000 since we started collecting empty bottles and cans. Geoff originally started the project off by organising the collection at his residential complex, followed by Adrian Crowe and Doug Lipp doing the same at theirs. Later on, we connected with the Express Recycling, a company in Nerang which provides a free pickup service. We have two accounts with Containers for Change:
- For Surfers Sunrise Rotary: C10262571 (money earned from this account can be allocated against any of our projects)
- For the Wheelchair Trust: C10199443 (money earned from this account can only be used for Wheelchairs
Almost all empty containers, except Wine and Spirit bottles, qualify. So, if you want to bring your own empties to one of the collection centres, please use either of these accounts. For more details, including the location of the collection centres, click here.
