What an event! Starting on Friday and going through till Sunday midday, the Lismore Conference was - in simple terms: hugely successful. I'm still buzzing, almost suffering from 'Sensory Overload'. Some people claim that a Rotary District Conference is... soooo booooring. Got news for you! Visualize the start of Friday night's dinner. A priest is called up to the rostrum to say grace. The MC warns him that he has no more than five minutes.... FIVE minutes??? For saying grace? Groan, here we go, it's going to be a long night... Well, take this from a guy who is not the most religious person you've ever met: in all the 3 score and ten years of my life, I've NEVER enjoyed the saying of grace as much! Glenn Samuel (formerly from Mudgeeraba Rotary Club and is now a minister in Lismore) presented grace in the format of a humorous poem. What's the...? Sorry, you should have been there yourself!
