President Andy Bell welcomed the visitor & past members. Andy spoke about the first group leaving to go to Samoa on the 16th of this month. Also Board Meeting on Monday 11th September at 5.45pm at Andy Bells home.
Directors' reports: Mark Twyford, asked if any board members are not going to board meeting, he requires a report to table. DG Darrell Brown is interested in our club having some involvement in fund raising for "Lift Lid on Mental Health".
A reminder that Dues are due $170.00 if paid by due date otherwise $180.00 charge.
Rosie McIntyre, spoke of Apple Marketing having raised approx $1 Million for the wheelchair project to date. In there last program they had raised $7500.00 which was a little down on the previous collection.
Samoa project did involve a lot of paper work, travel, time sheets, fund arrangements for travel, Insurance etc. Also a day to discuss the the cultural needs in Samoa with School children going from the local cluster of schools around Helensvale.
Daryl Sanderson, re Bikes now available for sale as a fund raiser for the wheelchair factory.
Geoff Croad, spoke about requiring 3 people each day for two programs for the RYDA Program. Dates:
Friday 13th October 6 group day from Marymount College to be run at the Southport Venue.
Monday 20th November 3 group day from St Hilda's to be run at the Southport Venue.
Times 8.30am - 2.30pm with morning tea and a light lunch provided.
For the ones that don't know about RYDA it stands for ROTARY YOUTH DRIVER AWARENESS PROGRAM its run with Rotary Involvement throughout Australia & New Zealand.
