Originally from Mauritius, that small island in the Indian Ocean, some 800 Km to the east of Madagascar, Nemours arrived in Australia in 1978. Talking about an allrounder: before migrating, he was in the Mauritian Police force, upon arrival on these shores he has worked in Plastic Injection models, in food retail, as a self employed gardener, as a postie, as a business driver for the elderly and then driving disabled children. But top this: for 11 years, he worked for the Australian Tax Office...  His is a big family: Married with four children and 5 grandchildren, he has brothers and sisters all over Australia.

When Channel 9 ‘A Current Affair’, a couple of months ago, broadcast their story about our wheelchairs project, he decided that he wanted to join. And here he is, restoring bicycles or taking them apart to salvage the frame components we use for wheelchairs.

And when he has a moment to relax? “ I enjoy gardening, he said. I listen to 60-70’s pop music, I enjoy doing household chores, washing and ironing (is he the perfect husband, or what?), and... I watch the Gentleman’s sport, Boxing”, he said. Welcome to the Wheelchairs Team, Nemours!
