Alec (left) is the grandson of one of our longest-standing volunteers, Peter Martin, whom I interviewed about 4 years ago.At a mere 26 years of age, at first sight, one might think that he doesn’t fit the average mould of the wheelchair shed worker – too young, isn’t he? But then, getting to know him a bit better, you’ll find out that his favourite style of music is... The Beatles, or The Doors, just to name two bands that indeed made “real music” in the 60’s and 70’s. [Links provided for some of the younger generation who might ask “The who??” [Yes, them as well... 😊 Ed.] And, reaching back to his ancestry, (Portuguese) classical music.
Professionally, he is a qualified accountant, specialising in Taxation and Trusts. He plays Golf, goes bushwalking – “by myself, I want to immerse myself, just watch the wildlife, listen to the birds,” he added. And he draws and paints pictures.
