On Saturday 18the and Sunday 19th February, our members, volunteers, Rotaractors and helpers from the Rotary Clubs of Broadbeach and Gold Coast disassembled the X-Ray Annexe for Mauna Health Centre, Pentecost Island, Vanuatu. The "skeleton" of the building was all pre-manufactured on site, with the trusses generously donated by Premier Timber & Trusses. To ensure a swift and accurate construction on site in Vanuatu, the entire building was fully constructed, and then all components were individually marked and numbered, before taking it down again and disassembled into individual parts. Since we didn't have a crane on site, it was all the "old-fashioned way" with lots of helpers contributing their muscle power. It was then packed into a container, ready for shipment on Tuesday. Wonderful Gold Coast weather also translates to 30 degrees plus heat!
