Last Wednesday, we had the pleasure of our newest member, Dr Elizabeth Celi, introducing herself in the customary ‘Rotarian behind the Badge’ presentation for new members. And not even the failure of her video or displaying her photos could faze her after all she is a professional psychologist, her field of expertise being EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing), a method to address PTSD/cPTSD and the "hot memories" EMDR helps treat". Too much information to put into this short article - sorry, you should have been there. One of the interesting aspects of her speech was the fact that she found very limited material for cases where the male was the victim of domestic violence, so she authored her own book on the subject: ‘Breaking the Silence: A practical guide for male victims of domestic abuse’.

Dr Elizabeth is an experienced Rotarian; she is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Mt Martha (Melbourne). We always aim for those type of talks to emphasise a new member’s passion.

Her hobby? It is photography and video production. But, in consequence of us not being able to get her videos to load, you now have the great opportunity to view one of the videos, if you navigate to this address (note: the first time it might take a while to load, so please be patient): https://vimeo.com/307161918. This should give you an idea of the level of her skill.
