Our member Trent Belling is a prominent member of the Queensland LNP. Whilst Rotary is certainly not meant to be political, the recent split (and re-unification) of the Coalition at the federal level and the subsequent "what now?" would be of general interest to everyone, irrespective of whether you are active in politics or not. |

Our annual changeover luncheon is one of our major events of the year, where the previous Rotary year's President, Andy Bell, will hand over the collar to incoming President Paul Seymour and awards are handed out. This year's event will be held at the Tryp Hotel in Southport. Graeme Isaacson wrangled a special deal, which includes a two-course (Main Course and Dessert) and welcome drinks on arrival. And, in a time when prices seem to go through the roof, the price is lower than last year's event! You need to book: click on this link: https://www.trybooking.com/DCNTT or scan the QR Code |

Stephanie is a 23 year old endurance athlete and adventurer with a background in exercise physiology.
Over the past few years, she has skied across Greenland, run from Canberra to Sydney to fundraise for a Nepalese school and skied across Europe's largest mountain plateau solo. Her current project is to become the first Australian woman to ski solo to the South Pole while also partnering with university scientists to conduct research into physiological adaptations in such a harsh environment.
In her presentation, she will talk about her adventures, her project and what drives her. She will also touch on discipline and goal setting.

Have a bad back? A weak leg? Arthritis? Osteoporosis? Or you simply feel that "exercise is beyond me"? Yes, this might come as a surprise: scientifically supervised (and very gentle) strength exercise can much improve your life for the better. Several of our members currently participate in their strength exercises, which are tailored by qualified Excercise Scientists to the individual, and supervised by exercise scientists and physiotherapists. All welcome. |
