This week, not unlike other businesses, we have been impacted by Covid:
The project shed had to be closed this past weekend, but we hope to open again this weekend
Jonny Beuli`s Italian Long Lunch due on 22 July, has had to be postponed to 12 August 2021
Surfers Sunrise Changeover Luncheon had to be postponed and with restrictions in place the only available date was 21 August. A decision was made at short notice to hold a breakfast changeover, to be held this Wednesday at Edgewater, Capri on Via Roma
Due to the revised schedule, PDG Sandra Doumany has tendered her apologies, but our esteemed PDG Darrell Brown has stepped in to assist.
This month, we have good news from the Surfers SLSC Supporters Club, who have announced that they will be installing a new lift, with works set to begin in August. The lift will be a great benefit to our older members, and those needing assistance, as well a great addition for access to functions and the upstairs balcony area.
Unfortunately, Steve Hamilton has made the decision not to renew his membership of Rotary due to business commitments but has stated when he is a position to commit 100% in coming years he would like to possibly rejoin.
A reminder again that we have been requested to assist at the Brisbane Expo on 21 October for traffic duties and coin collection, which will require a set up on the 20th and all day on the 21st.
With the ongoing COVID restrictions announced, we could not secure a date within a reasonable time period with The Links Resort to accommodate our numbers for a Luncheon.
Thus, the decision was made to instead have a Changeover Breakfast next Wednesday 21st July 2021 (from 07:00 am, for 07:30 am start) at

(same place as last year).
We'll have the entire restaurant to ourselves, and the menu will again be a delicious pre-selection of
“The Halloumi” (Vegetarian)

The cost per person is $30.00. Bookings have closed and we have advised the restaurant of numbers. If you haven't booked, but would like to attend, please call convener Graeme Isaacson directly.
We much regret to advise that, for the moment, our Project Shed at Arundel remains closed due to COVID restrictions. As soon as we can re-open again, we'll advise all members and associate members by email.
All tickets for our 'Christmas in July' Italian Long Lunch have been sold well before the official closing date.

It's on Thursday 22nd July 2021, from 12:00 pm. No idea when it will finish, but don't expect too much change from the afternoon... ☺
There will be plenty of Italian style Christmas dishes. Johnny has secured a major sponsor: My Carte, and a number of corporate tables have been sold as well. The price includes all food, unlimited wine and beer, entertainment. All proceeds go towards the X-Ray Unit and Blood Analyser for Vanuatu. Note: COVID restrictions impose an upper limit of just 120 attendees.
Our District is holding a number of Q&A sessions, in lieu of the usual District Training Assembly. All sessions start at 09:00 for 09:30 am start and are expected to conclude by 2:00 pm, with social time afterward.
Price of $20.00 includes a light lunch. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about effective project planning and creating a vibrant and inclusive Club through membership retention with members of the District Leadership team. There will also be plenty of opportunities to discuss matters raised by the on-line District Assembly presentations.
