It was all non-formal: meeting again at the Paradox Coffee Roasters in the heart of Surfers Paradise. Your editor regrettably was committed elsewhere, so the report is limited to a couple of pictures provided by Simon Brook (top) and Darrell Brown (bottom). Simon's picture eloquently captures the intensity of attention - obviously our members (and partners who attended) mostly are addicted to coffee. Was this taken before breakfast was served...? Whilst Darrell's picture I simply named "Stairway to Heaven" (for coffee addicts - with apologies to George Harrison. And still nobody knows what the green bits on the presenter's fingers are all about!)
You Editor came across this picture on the Internet the other day. [No, Henrietta, it wasn't "one of those" websites!] The face somehow looks familiar. A screen goddess from the golden era of Hollywood? A famous sports person?
One of the very few people on this planet with 50 years of Rotary service with a 100% attendance record, John Ellemor turned 88 on Wednesday last week! John's daughter Lynne will bring him along to our meeting this week.

Wheelchair guru Des La Rance reports that a sign has now been erected at the Gold Coast City Council tip to highlight a drop-off point for unwanted bicycles, destined to be recycled into wheelchairs. A big thank you to Neil Thurlow and his Accent Press company, which provided the sign at no charge. Well done, Des and Neil!
