As is traditional for Surfers Sunrise, our first meeting of the year is a social event. This year we met at the famous Bumbles Cafe in Surfers Paradise (by the way: their home backed Fig / Nut bread toast is divine!) Good opportunity for our President Elect Jo Gorman to show off her sparkling new Engagement Ring: Tony proposed to her at Christmas! Oh, how sweet... ☺.jpg)
Shortly after our Christmas Special Breakfast at the Sheraton Mirage, our Deputy Sergeant Ian Mayberry gathered all the presents many members had brought along and added them to about $400 worth of those he bought from the "Coffee Surcharge": After our regular club meetings, a number of members go on and have a nice cuppa, where a gold coin is donated to the kitty which is emptied at Christmas every year.
