Regrettably, the originally assigned speaker had to cancel, due to illness. So...
This week's speaker will be Melanie De Luca, from Argenina, who is currently travelling in Australia on a Holiday Working Visa. Melanie's We understand that her father is quite involved in Rotary in her home country, so she has agreed, at very short notice, pick up the bat and tell us all about her country and Rotary there.
The meeting will be held at the TRYP by Windham Hotel, 59 Meron Street, Southport.

As is traditional in our club, the first meeting of the new year is dedicated for the President to bring us up to date on what has happened and what will happen, and how we are going to get there. This is also your chance to ask questions, query procedures, make suggestions, provided (positive) criticism. |

Bianca, who grew up in Brazil, has done not just one, but two Youth Exchanges. She will focus on how Rotary can impact someone’s life when you start young — as she did at 11 years old. "Through Rotary, I’ve had the opportunity to visit over 200 clubs around the world, which has shaped my personal and professional journey" she wrote. Her goal is to inspire the younger generation to join Rotary, so it continues through generations to come. |

Kenn is introduced by Fred Hamblen. His mother was has human trafficked to the Middle East before he was 10. His father was killed in a motorcycle crash when he was 16. He became the defacto mother and father for his two younger siblings - the three of them orphans in SE Asia. Arriving in Australia late 2022, domestic violence was the order of the day until he and his sister were put on the street where Kenn lived in a car yard. Jobs in child care ensued (as he already had 4 years experience doing this) and now he's applying to Engineering school. |
