Police Citizen's Youth Club

Your newsletter editor will "jump into the breach" after our scheduled speaker, RYLA awardee Nick Butler, had to cancel at short notice. Why? (undoubtedly in consequence of what he learned at RYLA) he has landed a good, full-time job! Well done, Nick! I've had a lifelong (well, almost) affinity for bush poetry, with Australia's most famous one, Banjo Paterson, my favourite. Come and be entertained! Furthermore, I'll use the audience to "test" an Outback Yarn I've written and intend to submit for a competition within the next week. |

Our member Trent Belling is a prominent member of the Queensland LNP. Whilst Rotary is certainly not meant to be political, the recent split (and re-unification) of the Coalition at the federal level and the subsequent "what now?" would be of general interest to everyone, irrespective of whether you are active in politics or not. |

Here is an opportunity to mix with the greats of Rugby League and Rugby Union, whilst being entertained by the master comedian, Danny McMaster, whilst enjoying a plethora of various finger foods and unlimited drinks (wine, beer or softdrinks) for the entire 3-hour event. We will have a Minibus there to take people who may have gone above the 0.05 Limit (Max 15 Km). As we are not a licensed Taxi or equivalent service, we'll accept your generous donation rather than a fixed price. Here is the link to book online: https://www.trybooking.com/DBQWK

Our annual changeover luncheon is one of our major events of the year, where the previous Rotary year's President, Andy Bell, will hand over the collar to incoming President Paul Seymour and awards are handed out. This year's event will be held at the Tryp Hotel in Southport. Graeme Isaacson wrangled a special deal, which includes a two-course (Main Course and Dessert) and welcome drinks on arrival. And, in a time when prices seem to go through the roof, the price is lower than last year's event! You need to book: click on this link: https://www.trybooking.com/DCNTT or scan the QR Code |
