Gillian Reeve, who is the current Presiden of the Rotary Club of Mermaid Beach, went to India to help dispensing the Polio Plus vaccine. Her presentation will outline the trial and tribulations of such an enormous project, and she will elaborate why the eradication of Polio is still one of the most important World Health aims. |

Bruce Howlett, who is a member of the Burleigh Heads Rotary Club, will bring us up to date on one of the most daring Rotary projects ever undertaken in Australia: Developing a vaccine against Malaria. This project, which is undertaken at the local campus of Griffith University, is funded through a number of clubs throughout Australia and New Zealand. |

Cindy Donald is the Program Manager (QLD) for the Raise Foundation. In concert with President Andy's policy of continuing our club's engagement with Youth, their mentoring program dove-tails by providing an early intervention strategy for high school students and is delivered in various high schools throughout Australia. Raise provides a fully supervised, evidence-based, one-on-one, face-to-face mentoring program for students in Year 8 who are most at risk of disengagement or poor wellbeing. |
